Food snaps – we’re all at it these days aren’t we? We love to share what we have been chowing down on and show off at how good our dinner is looking. However, some venues just lend themselves to Instagram without needing much help, and Bristol is packed full of them. We have rounded up just a few of these for you here to have a scroll through…
The White Lion Terrace at the Suspension bridge
Where’s more iconic in Bristol than the Clifton Suspension bridge? Head to The White Lion Bar at the Avon Gorge Hotel, where they serve up classic pub food along with an extensive drinks menu. Take a seat on their huge terrace to take in the views, which is just breathtaking all year round. During the summer this is a eat sun trap and the heaters come out when it turns to winter.
Wapping wharf is arguably packed full of some of the finest food locatios in Bristol. A collection of restaurants made entirely of converted shipping containers provides a fabulous Instagram alone. Turn around for the view over the Bristol harbour looking out from one of the many venues. To top it all off visit The Athenian for one of their famous Gyros for a #foodporn worthy post!
The Beehive Coffee House
If you’ve got a sweet tooth this one’s for you. These super creamy, funky flavoured, stupidly oversized FREAKSHAKES with toppings galore are something that childhood dreams are made of and are bound to make your followers drool with envy.
The Pump House
Gin is perhaps the trendiest drink at the moment and its popularity seems almost unstoppable. The geniuses at the Pump House have over 400 different gins and know exactly how to garnish each one to match the undertones of the botanicals. Each glass is presented so beautifully you almost don’t want to drink it! (but I’m positive you will, and then proceed to try another one or two!).
Situated in what used to be The Stock Exchange Bakery is the gorgeous Whites Botanicals which is filled with fresh flowers and gorgeous ornaments. Potted plants hanging low from the ceiling, and the one mirrored wall makes the space seem even larger than it is. It is a cosy, comforting and relaxed space which is often quiet – the perfect spot to come for a coffee or a bite to eat. It is almost impossible to visit once botanicals and not snap a picture of the beautiful surroundings.
St. Nicks Market
St Nicks Market has been named one of the best markets in the UK with over 60 stalls full of small independent shops including a unique offering of world foods. The Georgian architecture makes for a very cute photo opportunity with some of the yummy street food available.
Tucked inside a courtyard in the heart of Clifton is tranquil Spa and Restaurant, The Lido. Take time to sit and relax in the award-winning restaurant serving the most delicious dishes overlooking the outdoor pool. The building is full of character with its original Victorian features and looks stunning come rain or shine.
Broken dock is the perfect spot for sitting and taking in the gorgeous views across the harbour side. With narrow boats moored right on the doorstep and plenty of time for people watching with lots of passers-by. If you are lucky enough to get a seat outside with one of their ‘planks’ and a glass of wine you’re on to a faultless evening. They also sell all of their drinks selection with a plastic cup option for if you’d like to sit on the wall and soak up the sun (when it actually ever comes out.)
Her Majesty’s Secret Service
Easily serving the most instagrammable cocktails in the city is HMSS. The creativity and expression behind these drinks can’t be beaten. We don’t want to give the game away if you haven’t visited, but, who doesn’t want their Espresso Martini with a party ring? Or a sharing cocktail served in a Gum Ball machine?
The Hobgoblin on Gloucester Road serves up the heartiest portion of Dirty Fries you might ever see. These things are so ridiculously dirty they should have their own Instagram account! They also have an extensive burger menu full of big bad ass baps which will impress your followers who love a bit of food porn – you won’t leave hungry that’s for sure.
Vegan food is becoming ever more popular especially with ‘Veganuary’ this year, and more people branching out with their eating options. Choose from quinoa waffles, smoothie bowls and exciting, colourful sandwiches. Both food and interior are so aesthetically pleasing, it’s as much a treat for the eyes as for the belly!
