Award-winning gelateria Swoon has done it again and brought happiness to our palates once more.



In celebration of the World Cheese Awards’ 30th anniversary, head chef Luisa Fontana has been hard at work to craft two new limited-edition gelatos sure to please every foodie with a penchant for all that’s savoury!



Taking inspiration from winners of the World Cheese Awards from the South West, Swoon’s latest creation takes on your classic Christmas cheese board and elevates it to a creamy and luxurious gelato.


So, what are the flavours on offer?


Firstly, the Bath Blue — winner of the 2014 World Cheese Awards, you’ll instantly recognise that salty and creamy bite that’s unique to a well matured blue.


Second, it’s Montgomery’s Mature Cheddar — 2016 Super Gold award-winner of the World Cheese Awards, it’s rich and nutty with a velvety texture that works wonderfully in Swoon’s gelato.



When talking about the inspiration and work behind these new flavours, Luisa stated that: “To develop these two recipes, I had to get to grips with the makeup of each cheese, understanding its texture, fat content and salt levels in order to balance this with the gelato base, but the result has made it all worthwhile.


“This will be a new journey for the taste buds of many in Bath and Bristol, but I hope cheese and gelato lovers alike will embrace these two unique flavours in the lead up to Christmas.”
